Vision Cast 2005 - Answer the Call

Vision Cast 2006 is coming this April. And once again I'll be doing a video. It's been a long time since I've done any video-recording and editting, so I decided to look back at the video of Vision Cast 2005. It wasn't as bad as I first published and screened it for an audience, it was WORSE. Haha... Well, there is always room for improvement. The only part I think is worth publishing on the web for the viewing of MILLIONS and MILLIONS of readers of my blog (HA!).

I'll also be showing you the teasers leading up to Vision Cast 2005. I haven't seen those videos this year, but there were pretty entertaining last year. You would probably find it cheesy (I've been taught that cheesy is a polite replacement word for "Lame"), because it's more of an inside joke.

Ah... The memories.... Always remind me of the purpose of running this God-given dream.

p.s For best viewing, click "play" and then "pause". When the grey line is full, that means that the loading is complete. Click "Play" again and you shouldn't face any trouble while watching the video.

Joy of serving

Last night May and I wanted to go for movie. Decided to invite dad to join us. He cooked and prepared a meal for May and I. And as dad droved we ate in the car. He talked about how much we would have spent if we were to eat out. He had this smile on his face. Like he was really happy to have found a new way to serve and love May and I. He said that he'll do that more often. Tonight I'm going to church right after work, and he's bringing food for me again. I think he's smiling.

I'm reminded about the joy of serving and loving. The joy of searching deep inside to find something we can do to bless someone; to take the time to learn and master a skill in order not to disappoint our team members; to contribute to the welfare and growth of our fellow runners and dreamers. I pray that no man misses out on this joy.

My new template!!

So how much do you like(or hate) my new template? Of course it's not done by me, I don't know anything about HTML codings. That was Jojo's work. And of course it isn't my work of art at the background. That was extracted out from a poster done by Joe and Jason. Can you guess where the wordings come from?

Anyway, need your feedback on the new template. I don't want this to be just a nice or cool thing that it isn't practical to the people this blog serves. So your feedback is highly appreciate. Thanks. More from me later in the evening.

Blogger Trouble

Dear all,

After seeking help from an IT friend and trying to fix the problem myself, I have come to the conclusion that the problem with my sidebar is Blogger's fault. Initially, I thought it was because of my newly added music file link. I tried to change a new template, which will remove all customisations, but the problem remained. So sad...

So after choosing template after template, I've decided to stick with something familiar and use the same template I use for my Lah blog. In the mean time, if anyone has created a cool template and would love for me to help you showcase your proud work, I'll be more than delighted. I promise to give a shoutout, maybe even put a link to you =)

Recently discovered a really exciting possibility, hopefully I can get it done soon. Look forward to that!!

My thoughts on Valentine's

I think Valentine's Day was a businessman's idea. One smart guy.... Sure there's the story about that Saint Valentine and all. But the idea of actually having a day in the calendar to celebrate?? Can anyone trace back in time and figure out whose idea it was?? ok thank you. I think we can redefine the meaning of this day by the way we celebrate love, or rather, by the way we love throughout the year. It doesn't have to be just about dining or shopping or mourning. Don't let this day control how you live and how you love!!

Reflection about Tattoos...

"If you had a tattoo, can you still go to Heaven?"

That was a question posted by one of my youths. I couldn't really focus on the addressing the question at that time, as my mind was in too many places (sorry, friend). I have some thoughts about it now, and I would like to open up the discussion to whoever that comes by this page. And for the sake of discussion, I have added some questions myself. My youth only asked that one question above.

Could you go to Heaven if you have a tattoo? I certainly think so. There is no stain too great that God cannot wash away. Jesus won't love you less, or more. Besides, having a tattoo doesn't make you a bad person. The words or images that you wear on your skin doesn't determine your righteousness or holiness. I personally know a former drug addict, now a frevent servant of God and the HIV community. He has tattoos all over his body, but I'm sure he's going to heaven and not lose out on his share of the Kingdom.

Is a Christian allowed to have tattoos? I'm positive that there's a scripture in the old testament that deals with this - Leviticus 19:28. God's only explanation as to why you shouldn't have a tattoo - "because I am God, and I say so". Sounds good enough for me, haha. He didn't bother to explain why, so maybe I shouldn't too. Haha, not much of a discussion, ei? (Of course, the relevance of this law in relation to its context should be taken into account. That, however, would require a lot of study.)

So we look to the new testament, something closer to home and more solid (in my opinion lah). Another scripture that can be helpful is found in 1 Corinthians 6:12-15. That particular context is about sexual immorality, but there are some relevency to our discussion here - "The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body" - and also - "Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself?" . Here it clearly shows that our bodies are not our own, therefore all things that we do with it, we must do it for the Master.

But can't I just have a tattoo to look cool? The outward appearance doesn't really matter, as long as my heart loves Jesus, am I not right? If that is your question, then my question to you is this - "Can you love Jesus enough to forgo the tattoo idea?". I think the outward appearance does speak volumes about our love, our passion.

I'll stop here for now. What do you think?

22 February, 2006

I've been looking around for answers as to whether we should still obey the old testament law. I've asked for opinions, googled and got linked to a website that supports homosexuality.... Finally I ended up with the bible. Funny how that was my last resource. I also feel ashame that after being a Christian for so long, I've never realised this. I'm learning more and more about the implications of grace!!

Anyway, I'm still processing my thoughts, so I won't give my thoughts about this matter. Rather, I'll refer you to the bible - click here. I've found it to be extremely helpful. I'll also be studying on the responses of Jesus towards the law.

Ponder this, young people.

The way you use your time will determine if you screw up or build up your life. Invest your time wisely. The wise man builds his house upon the Rock. Invest your time on variables that is of firm foundation, positive impact, and will stand the test of time.
